Ardor
Ardor is a story that starts in 1911, when the four brothers Rovera Federico, Carlo, Dorelio and Francesco - began to manufacture briar pipes. The production was carried out exclusively with machines, which worked thanks to the exploitation of water power, (since electricity was not yet available) with which the root was cut and processed until the finished piece was obtained. The shapes produced were many, in various finishes and were sold all over the world. Angelo Rovera, a son of Federico, studied and learned the art of making pipes that over the years and the evolution of society became more and more complex and refined. He himself turned his passion in making pipes to his son Dorelio, who in 1958 began working the briar in 1958.
Angelo tried to transmit all his knowledge and all his experiences to his son from the choice of briar plates as raw material to the real manufacture.
After years of work experience, under the supervision of his father Dorelio bosses who wanted to do something unique and different from the simple pipe made by machine and so he decided to create a series of pipes exclusively handmade with revolutionary shapes that clashed with the classic until now produced.
Dorelio worked hard to perfect and refine his ability to create pipes and thanks to his father‘s help after years of passion and dedication he managed to obtain a truly beautiful and appreciated product all over the world. It was at that time that the Ardor pipe was born, a name that derives from the union of the initials of the name and surname of Angelo Rovera (AR) and Dorelio Rovera (DOR). Currently, Damiano Rovera is the only one in Ardor, he personally chooses the briar to work from which real art jewels will be created. The plates are chosen from the most beautiful roots (erica arborea) from Sardinia, Liguria, Calabria and Tuscany. The maturation of the root follows a very old but effective method that allows the pipes obtained a fresh smoke without danger of condensation. Obviously, no type of grout is used which degrades the quality and the beauty of the pipe in all respects. Today the Ardor are pipes known by the majority of smokers all over the world who appreciate and praise for the quality of the details and the goodness of the smoke personally guaranteed by Dorelio Rovera and his son Damiano who work and produce pipes with such passion.
