A few years ago I rediscovered the pleasure of this magical object, a passion inherited from an uncle and I started building pipes, becoming more and more passionate about it. My name is Dario Sgreccia, I live in Varese and I'm originally from the Marche region, the two cradles of Italian pipe... how could I not love them?
I like to work with heather briar and olive trees of Italian origin and I particularly love deadwood. So as for the woods, also for the mouthpieces and the strings I look for the best materials which I then shape by hand.
I experiment with new finishing solutions and new shapes, supported in my work by my wife Anna, I take care of the technical part and she takes care of the aesthetic part. I prefer freehand shapes and never make two identical pipes, the production is limited and around 60 pieces per year.
