My name is Yorgos Mitakidis, I was born in Thessaloniki, Greece on May 23 1993.
Ever since I remember myself I am practicing the arts playing music and painting. I studied agricultural technology in the university of Thessaloniki. The making of smoking pipes started with a childhood memory of a family friend, he used to smoking a pipe and had all the accesories of a pipe. This memory comes to life when I was 19 years old when I bought my first pipe and tobacco. So like that started my journey to the magical world of smoking pipes. Shortly afterwards one friend of mine Panos who made traditional bagpipes offered me a job in his workshop. There for the first time I had direct access to machinery and tools so my love for manufacturing was born. I finished my internship at university and I wanted to combine my two loves. There I started making my first pipes, all the pieces were sold. Since 2017 I have my own workshop and I have been trying to make high grade pipes inspired by classic English shapes, objects that exist in nature and the environment we live in.
I get premium quality briar wood from all the Mediterranean countries, the mouthpieces are handcut and I use german ebonite. Other material that I use in my pipes are silver, brass, horn, bamboo and other materials. My pipes have a stamp with my name, the track number and the year of making. Thank you
